Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Security Measures:
- Design and implement security protocols to protect information systems and data from cyber threats.
- Create and enforce policies to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.
Monitor and Analyze Security Systems:
- Continuously monitor network traffic for suspicious activity.
- Analyze security breaches to determine their root cause and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.
Conduct Risk Assessments:
- Evaluate the organization’s security posture through regular risk assessments.
- Identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Incident Response and Recovery:
- Lead the response to security incidents, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Conduct forensic analysis and document findings to support legal actions if necessary.
Stay Updated on Cyber Threats:
- Keep abreast of the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and technology trends.
- Update security measures and protocols in response to emerging threats.
Implement Access Controls:
- Establish and maintain appropriate access controls and permissions for users.
- Ensure that access to sensitive data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
Compliance and Audit Preparation:
- Ensure that the organization complies with relevant security standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Prepare for and participate in security audits, both internal and external.
Network and Infrastructure Security:
- Secure the organization’s network and infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Ensure that security measures are integrated into network architecture and design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewall management, and operating system security.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 27001).
- Knowledge of penetration testing and vulnerability management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address security issues.
- Ability to conduct detailed risk assessments and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Professional Certifications:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
- CompTIA Security+.
- Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cyber Security.
